- Karla Mallette is Professor of Italian at the University of Michigan. She is the author of The Kingdom of Sicily, 1100-1250: A Literary History and European Modernity and the Arab Mediterranean, as well as the co-editor of A Sea of Languages: Literature and Culture in the Premodern Mediterranean.
