CMRS announces the second of its three colloquia for fall 2009. These
colloquia serve the graduate interdisciplinary certificate, but all
interested students and faculty are invited to attend. Six new area
faculty (weblinks below) will be joining us for lunch in 326 Allen
Building, from noon until 2:00 on Thursday, 8 October. Each of them will
have a few words to say about their research, the courses they plan to
teach, and the fields and topics of study in which they will supervise
students. Students still engaged in course work or looking for
committee members will have the chance to chat with them informally
before perhaps working with them; graduate students about to embark on
the job market may be able to draw on their recent experience. Please
